What to Do?

For the third or fourth day in a row, Nathan has asked me to have another baby. He says he wants another kid in the house, so he doesn’t have to be by himself when the other kids nap. Hmmm. I tried to explain to him that if we had another baby he/she would sleep way more than the other kids do, and I would have less time to spend with him. This answer is not satisfying to him. He persists.

I think the question is coming up, because a boy in his class has a new baby sister.  This question is probably going to present itself for the next 7 to 10 years as he’s in elementary school. Moms with 10 year olds have babies. Even moms of 14 year olds have babies. Its just that we had our babies before he could even understand what mommy having babies is all about.

So, here’s the question… Should Ricardo rush back to the Urologist and have his vasectomy reversed? I think we should have a family meeting soon. I’d hate for my child with siblings to be the only one in his class who doesn’t remember mommy being pregnant.

(That previous paragraph is completely a joke. Anyone who knows me probably just gasped for air when they read that. I’m completely content with my trio and that’s what we’re sticking with.)

As I was reading paragraph #3, I’m thinking “this has to be a joke, right?” I anticipate this happening in a few years, when other kids in elementary school have new siblings…and mine will not be getting any more.

I bet Ricardo would be interested in that procedure! Wasn’t there some sort of wheelbarrel involved the last time around??
