I’m Back

src=”https://3inunder3.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/wallpaper1.thumbnail.jpg” alt=”wallpaper1.jpg” />Its been a few days. I’m trying to catch up on all the projects I have started. Here is the finished paint job on Nathan’s room. The main color is a butter yellow and the stripe is a deep red. It only took 4 coats of paint to cover the red. I think it turned out really good, and boy does my arm hurt from patting myself on the back!
I got a tip for painting the stripes from a posting of Works for Me Wednesday. I measured out the different widths of the stripe using a tape measure. I didn’t use a level, because usually the ceiling isn’t level. After I smoothed the tape down, I went over it with the yellow paint. That way it sealed up the tape edges. If any bled under the tape, it bled the same color as the wall. They I painted the 4 coats of red over the section. I was completely amazed at how clean the lines were. There were only a few spots that needed touching up.
Now Nathan and I are butting heads about decor. He wants talking Darth Vader posters? and I just want to decorate with different maps that I’ve collected. I’ll keep you updated.
This is what I’ve had Ricardo doing since Saturday. Yep, that would be our entryway hallway. I do 99% of all painting that occurs in the house, but I draw the line at having to climb up a 16 ft extension ladder (the top of it is folded down in the picture). Don’t you love that hideous light? Its on like a 10 ft extension chain, so its easy to change bulbs. Its also at the right height for the kids to swat at when they’re coming down the stairs.
He built this contraption so he could use the ladder on the stairs…. Pretty ingenious, eh?
These are the wallpapers I’m debating to put under the chair rail and on the green wall in the picture of Ricardo’s “box.” It has to do with these since my hallway is basically in the living room. The curtains have a very predominant orange and green stripe in them. What’s your vote?
BTW…If this doesn’t make sense my kids are in the background fighting.

Holy cow Nathan’s room looks awesome!! I let A.P. put his posters I don’t like on the back of the door; that way he can see them at night but they are out of the way during the day.
I like the big orange flowers!!
