The Best Uncle Ever

My brother came in for a visit over the last few days.

I asked him to babysit on Wednesday while I worked and he accepted. Not only did he accept, but he took the kids shopping at the mall.Let Nathan go to Build A Bear workshop and spend excessive amounts of money on a stuffed animal, bought them dinner and took them to the play area.

When I got home from work they were all snuggled in a bed (not to be confused with their own beds. Piper Ann doesn’t like to sleep alone.) He looked at me and said, “I don’t know how you do this everyday.” Nothing like a little appreciation for what you do.

After a long day in the lazy river with Nathan at the local pool, he apparently he hadn’t had enough and offered to babysit Thursday night.  Ricardo and I so needed a date night.  It had been a long time since we had gone out!

We went to Alandales in Kirkwood, and just happened to stumble upon ladies night. Free babysitting and free beer? It doesn’t get much better than that. We had the mussels, inside out guacamole (think crab rangoon, but with guacamole), and split fish and chips for dinner. It was really good. The service wasn’t the best, but I kind of knew that going into it. As long as the beers were full, we were content.

Now, if only he would move back to “The Lou.”
