Fronut?

Its the most delicious ice cream ever from Fritz’s Frozen Custard in Valley Park.

It starts with vanilla frozen custard. Then its topped off with pretzels, chocolate shell, and then drizzled with caramel.

It got the name “Fronut,” because it tastes just like an Entenmann’s chocolate glazed donut.

We make these at home, but use french vanilla ice cream instead of custard. Its not as good, but still delicious.

I won’t be having one of these for a while, because we’re going to Michigan in a few weeks to visit friends who have all been working out religiously. I’ll have 6 when we get back.

    Oh, this sounds perfect today. It is like being on the surface of the sun here. If it makes you feel any better I have gained all sorts of weight on vacation. I haven’t hit the gym in weeks!! When are you coming?

    Go ahead and eat, I have gained, um, a few pounds back and haven’t been to the gym in forever either.

    I actually think the first time I tasted a bite of the fronut, that it was a Krispy Kreme made out of ice cream.

    Seriously, the pretzel gives you the fiber and carbs of the dough. The caramel….that’s just carmelized sugar, not unakin to the glaze. There’s salt in the dough that helps it’s chemistry and the chocolate gives it richness.

    I’m telling you, it’s a frikkin’ Krispy Kreme made out of ice cream.

    I’m gonna write Sauce and the Food Network. People don’t know what they’re missing.

    You haven’t lived until you’ve had a Fronut.
