Archive for July, 2010
I recently participated in the Christmas in July swap hosted by Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous.
I made this purple clutch with matching wallet.
My arm hurts from patting myself on the back. I actually sewed this one with a flange and a zipper without a pattern. It had taken a couple tries on other clutches, but I finally figured it out! It was hard to part with this, but Nikki at Nikki’s Nifty Knacks loved it.
Here’s what she made me. I love it. I shouldn’t be lazy and just link to her, but I’d have to empty it and take a picture.
This Vacation Countdown Calendar could also be made for birthdays and Christmas.
I’ll be making a few of these for a bench in my kitchen.
These flower rings are easy enough for a birthday party activity. They’d also make great stocking stuffers or gift toppers come Christmas time.
I love me a shirt with a built in bra. Luckily or unluckily I wasn’t “overly blessed,” so I can get away with shirts like these.
I made this travel document holder when we went to Mexico last year. I came across this one that is an improvement over mine, since it has a closure on it. Now I’ll just need somewhere to go that requires a passport…hint, hint, Ricardo.
I’m inspired by these Tape Roses from Casa Sugar as artwork for Piper Ann’s room. I’ll keep you updated on those!
Instead of donating or reselling Oliver’s shorts after this Summer. I’m going to make some of these water bottle slings by the Petite Purl for the next time we go camping.
I’d love to make some sort of version of this necklace from M&J Trimming.
I think these dopp kits from the purl bee made out of upcycled men’s clothing would be great gifts!
I was asked to try out the newest thing in the Zhu Zhu Pets world.
Its called Kung Zhu and its geared more towards boys unlike the original Zhu Zhu Pets.
There is the Delta Force side and the Ninja side. After going through different training facilities, they meet up in the battle arena. Each hamster dons battle gear and they go head to head until one of them is defeated. Think UFC for hamsters.
We had a little party here to try out the Zhu Zhu pets. I’m glad I didn’t wait until last minute to put it together, because it took 2 hours to unpackage everything.
I made a regular 9×12 boxed cake with white frosting and sprinkles. Then I added chocolate covered raisins here and there, and told the kids that the hamsters got loose and pooped all over the cake! It was good for a laugh.
I’ve been addicted to potato chips lately, especially salt and pepper chips.
This Vintage Chica shows you how to make your own. I never thought of dipping them in hummus. mmm
I wish I had the patience for this. Maybe it will be a good January project.
I wonder if my kids would wear these. I could stock up on pillowcases from Goodwill. I guess I could also save time and just buy pajama pants from Goodwill!
With all the traveling Ricardo has been doing, I was hoping to stock up on shower caps to use as covers for bowls when we go to a party. Apparently Hyatt’s don’t carry shower caps anymore. I guess they went out with the 80’s! I’d love to make some of these, though. I also think they’d make a great wedding gift with a set of nesting bowls.
I’m looking for something new for my bed. Maybe I’ll try this tutorial from Fresh Linens.
Two of these frames with magnets on the back from Paper N Stitch would be perfect for my fridge. One for the weekly menu and one for a grocery list.
A new way to embellish with zippers.
I love the fabrics in this pouch, but it needs some perfecting.
I’m loving the look of the two toned zipper flower.
