Hobby Hump Day
I’ve been really into making these pouches lately. They’re perfect for keeping coupons or makeup together in your purse.
Here are some pictures of ones I’ve made…
This one was featured on emmasfancies. I’m thrilled!
My First Custom Order
I had a lady contact me through my Etsy Store who wanted me to reproduce an nostalgic apron from her childhood for her daughters. She also wanted one to match for herself. We added a little custom touch by having initials embroidered on the pockets. They turned out so cute!
Here are some pictures…
This is the one I copied.
Here are the ones I made…
We decided that the moms should be a line instead of gathered. I personally don’t like pleats around my waist!
Just wanted to let you all know that I’ve listed about 20 new items in my store, so check it out. I’m offering my blog readers a 10% rebate that will be refunded through paypal. Make sure you let me know that you read my blog.
A Couple Reminders
Tomorrow and Thursday are the big craft show, aka the reason I’ve been ignoring you all. Its from 9 to 1 at Parkway United Chuch of Christ located at the northwest corner of Ballas and Clayton. Hope to see you there!

Hobby Humpday
Sorry no Hobby Hump Day from me. I have a craft show in a week and need to be sewing instead of blogging.
From the Mouth of My Babe…
I took Piper Ann to the doctor for her 4 year old check up. The doctor came in and looked at Oliver and said, “are you just along for the ride, today?”
He looked at her and said, “my name is not ‘just along for the ride,’ its ‘Oliver.’

PA is 4 Today
My baby girl turned 4 today. Nathan was off school, so Ricardo took the day off. We picked up my grandma and had lunch at Llywellyn’s Pub in the Central West End. We followed that up with some delicious cupcakes from the Cupcakery.
I definitely hit a home run with this gift. It is guaranteed to provide hours of fighting fun.
Hopefully she had a good day!
Things I Love Thursday-Taco Soup
Here’s what you’ll need
2lbs ground beef
1green pepper chopped
1 medium onion chopped
2 packets of Taco Seasoning
1 1/2 cups water
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 cans of corn
2 cans of condensed tomato soup
1 can black beans (optional)
Tortilla Chips
Sour Cream
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Brown ground beef with green peppers and onions. Drain the fat.
Stir in 1 packets of Taco Seasoning.
Add water. Stir.
Add 2 cans of Diced Tomatoes.
Stir.
Add 2 cans of corn. (Yes, Ricardo poured them in that way and added the tomatoes to look like boobs. Those of you who know him aren’t surprised. He was so proud of himself.)
Stir in the 2 cans of Tomato Soup. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat and simmer for 45 min to 1 hour. We added a can of black beans because something else we love is Fiber!
This is great served with taco chips, sour cream, and shredded cheese!

Hobby Hump Day-Daisy Crazy Tutorial
There are a lot of ways to make fabric flowers out there. This is how I make mine…
Cut a template out of paper or cardstock. Mine is a 1×2″ rectangle with the ends rounded. You could also make them pointy.
Fold fabric over and pin template. Cut around it. Do this 6 times.
This is what you’ll end up with. (There are 12 pieces all together.)
With right sides together. Sew around edges of petals.
Using the blunt end of a wooden skewer, turn petals right side out.
This is what your petals will look like once turned right side out. Feel free to press them if you wish. ( I don’t)
Before you start to sew the petals together, pull top and bottom threads out at least a couple of inches. It will make gathering a lot easier.
Using the basting stitch line up petals and start sewing them together.
Make sure to leave another tail at the other end before you snip it off. Tie a knot with one of the tails using both threads.
Pull one thread of the unknotted tail and gather the petals. Be gentle. You don’t want to break the threads.
Stitch two ends of flower together.
Pin petals to fabric.
Sew flower to fabric along circle baste stitch.
Sew buttons in the middle of flower to hide stitching. Covered buttons are always cute.
Happy Election Day
I had a really surreal moment when I voted today.
My polling place is at the grade school down the street. After I cast my ballot, I exited the gym doors just as the students started singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” over the loud speaker during morning announcements. I seriously welled up.
Did anyone claim their coffee or doughnuts after voting?
