Okay Liv, I always read your blog and never comment. Just wanted to say you’re a genius and I love all your stuff! One note on your etsy store, you need an avatar. Right now nothing shows up next to your store name, just a plain white box. Maybe one of your photographs…or a closeup of some applique work. -D

You have some gorgeous aprons there, how about some more gender-neutral or boy-ish aprons? My son loves to help cook, so I’m sure there are plenty more boys out there who’d wear them.

I love that Christmas fabric – so so funky!

I just visited your etsy shop. You have lovely stuff there. The thing I love most is having beautiful aprons for girls, which is kind of hard to find. Most of the stores sell adult sizes.
I don’t think there is really anything I can say about improvement, as all these looks so perfect, but yes, I would say the aprons with flowers and patchwork would look much more colorful of little girls than the canvas ones.

I can’t believe how much you have managed to sew! I have 3 kiddies too and I am seriously impressed. I really need an apron, I have such a bad habit (which my kids are now copying) of wiping my hands down my pants…ew, I know!!

    I wouldn’t change a thing, it’s all beautiful.

Okay. This totally takes me back — a friend of my mother’s (WAAAAAAAAAAY) back in the 70’s made my sister and me aprons of our very own for decorating Christmas cookies at her house. Every little girl must have her own.

Love the little zipper pouch with the matching button from the dot on your fabric. Aren’t making zipper pouches addictive?

I like your aprons, and especially the oilcloth bibs. One suggestion — some of the photos, like the Star, Flower, Sun Embellished Tote Bag, have some shadows that make it difficult to see. (Not that I am a photo expert by any means!) But the work is really lovely.

As far as your esty….the only commnent I have is that the 1st few rows of photos on page 1 do not do justice to your work and the fabric. I have a hard time taking good digital photos. The photos taken outside (page 2) show up really well. I would retake the photos at the top of page 1.

Your Etsy store looks pretty great to me. The only suggestion that I could think of is possibly putting more info in your profile. Maybe make it a little more personal. I like to have a feeling of knowing the buyer before I purchase. I love the giveaway, very cute.

Wow I love everything in your shop. I would suggest making a few aprons for kids…boys and girls. Also, the lighting on a few of your pics is a little dark so the colors of your beautiful work don’t really show well. I can’t believe you sew so much with three kids…I have two and can’t sew nearly as much as you!

I love the girly apron with the floral tree, I also like that you put the size and length of the aprons, as a particularly tall person I find it very frustrating if I can’t gauge how long the apron will be on me.

The only advice I could offer was maybe to take your photos outside or in natural light to improve the white balance and saturate the colours a little more 🙂

Lovely linens. You’ve got me with all of the ruffles. You can’t go wrong with those 🙂 One friendly suggestion for the girl’s aprons: adding side pockets could up the practicality quotient. I know my little girl loves to just stand with her hands in them…although, sometimes she’s just fondling a dirty rock or caterpillar in her palm and the pockets aid in hiding them from sight. I can never really tell. Who says “diamonds are a girl’s…”? Why…pockets are a girl’s best friend!

Lovely Christmas apron up for the draw btw! Best to all.

Well, as someone who has only ever sold 3 items on my etsy shop (you can find it on my blog if you’re interested), I’m not sure I’m qualified to give you advice. Especially since all 3 items were bought by my mom. Which is awesome, but I don’t think really counts, you know? I think your idea of making people give you feedback is awesome, though. Kinda’ makes me wish I had thought of doing that, too! My, I’m chatty today!
My feedback is that maybe you could work on your photographs – making the background plainer and using natural lighting (it takes away the yellow hue). I really, really love your shop, though. See, I’m favoriting it!

aww, i love all your aprons! they are all so cute!

i thought of one thing you could improve… try taking photos of the aprons under natural light, like you do with the bibs. You use such pretty fabrics but it’s too bad that they are all showing up a little yellowish under those lights.

I love all the cheerful fabrics you use for your aprons! You might consider making/selling some full aprons, too; while I really like your designs, anything less than a full apron just isn’t enough coverage for me! But maybe I’m an unusually messy cook…

My only comment is to try and take all the pictures outside b/c your color seems more true-to-life in those pictures. Although I *think* I can tell the colors of the indoor shots, it makes me slightly hesitant since there is a yellowish cast to them.

That little apron is so cute! My girls would love to wear it! Love the variety of items you offer–all the different styles let everyone find just they type they like best! As others have said, a clear photo under natural light with no shadows on the product would show off your handiwork even better, and a few extra views (closeup, back view) would be great too.

Your store as a lot of nice items. Very well made too! If I were to give one constructive comment, it’s that your photography could be improved a bit. Try to avoid shadows across your items, and a few seem to have a yellowish tint. Most of the pictures for the bibs look fabulous though. So whatever you were doing there, I’d repeat it!
